....Its something about the way the ink soaks into the damp cotton paper... the weight of the beveled zinc plates, the felt pads, the old hand crank press..... contemporary expressions combined with traditional intaglio....aquatint, drypoint, and mezzotint....and a few completely uncharted techniques altogether .......then out of nowhere unique textures and shadings... unusual usage of a variety of a substrates, even some household products...Paperika a favorite......and probably a fan of Picasso...the artists appears to be using there representational backbone as a key to the abstract world....pro framing.... museum rag 4 ply mattes....dust seal, etc... |
